Rancho da Saudade
Portuguese Canadian
Seniors Foundation

It all started when a small group of people that had the love for Portuguese Folklore got together to form this big group that it is today, called Rancho Da Saudade.  Our group consists of 46 people of all ages and is a performing group for our members of the Portuguese Canadian Seniors Foundation and community events. We consist of dancers, musicians and singers who love to show others our cultural back ground we do this through our music, lyrics, costumes and dance. We perform songs from all over Portugal from the north to the South and all the Islands of Acores.

Our Folklore dancers have many regional costumes to choose from depending on the event they are performing at. Many of our costumes are handmade by the many talented women of our Foundation. Some originals have been donated by different regions of Portugal.

Both our group members have our Portuguese cultural dance and song close at heart and have performed throughout the years at many functions all over the Lower mainland but their most favourite place to dance is still by far their home place, for the Portuguese Canadian Seniors Foundation members. This is where everything began and where we practice every Thursday.
